TeilnehmerThomas,
I also have acomputer with Windows XP since 2004 and have not changed it, but I also do not put much on the system. I have two other computers though that everyone in the household use and there are always issues that are difficult to correct. I only offered the suggestion of re-installing as possible solution. Sometimes software installation and un-installation leaves so much „junk“ in Windows that it is too painful for the average user to try and repair.
As for Vista, I am trying it out also. I like the ability to handle multiple monitors. The interface has a nice feel to it, but the lack of driver stability has been an issue.

TeilnehmerIt sounds like there are some conflicts with background services running if your computer is being pushed to run at %100 CPU utilization. I have run into this issue before. Programs take longer to open and there may be some spontaneous „Not Responding“ issues.
While it may not help and I am certainly not an IT person, in general it is my belief that Windows needs to be re-installed every once in a while. Perhaps not the most elegant fix, but it is the most dependable. Every year or so I reformat the hard drive and re-install Windows and then re-install the programs as I need them again and it is like having a new computer all over again.
After many years of trying to fix issues with Windows and software running on Windows, I have given up and just go to the „fresh start“ approach.
I have been using AOMRecord for years and have found any issues I have are largely related to my own computer or to recent changes in the Internet music site.
Thomas does a good job of helping with the latter but really cannot do much for the former.
I certainly „feel your pain“ but just offer the above as a general suggestion, not as a specific repair for your problem.

TeilnehmerHello Alexandre,
I can adapt the Sirius stuff, but they don’t supply information about the album and there’s no cover image, is that correct? I’ll publish the new configuration with the next update.
About Real: Is this the stuff that uses the Real player? Haven’t had a look at this yet.
eko.fr: I can’t do that.
Have nice day
Thomas
Hey, I could go for some Sirius too. I have it in my car and am getting used to it a bit. I really miss the Acoustic Rock station from AOL but the Sirius Coffeehouse is pretty close.
Also, did you see the Radio@AOL beta version. They seem to be on the verge of a big change.

TeilnehmerThomas,
You seem to have come up with the answer. The AOMRecord program is able to see all the media information from LaunchCast.
Very well done.
Thank you.

TeilnehmerSure. I think that is fine. Is there a time that you would do that? I am behind a router/firewall, but we should be able to hook up.

TeilnehmerThomas…no luch for me. I tried installing/uninstalling AOMRecord. The software sees the LaunchCast and has it in the „provider“ line but the media information is not there.. I will go back to just using Radio@AOL as my source. The LaunchCast radio seemed to have better sound quality though and the selection was a little better since I cannot reocrd any of the XMRadio stations….c’est la vie….Sal

TeilnehmerThomas…I completely uninstalled the program and re-installed with v.2.3.565 and the media data still do not show up. I have a screen shot I can send you, but I do not have a host. I will send it to you via e-mail….

TeilnehmerThomas,
I just tried the new file and it did not work. In fact the title bar showing the station just shows a „dot‘ now instead of saying YAHOO! Launchcast.
And sorry, I saved the new file you gave me over the old file and did not save the old file.
My fault.

TeilnehmerI had disconvered something quite useful. I could pick the songs to record as opposed to recording the „radio“ streams.
Thank you for this nice software.

TeilnehmerThomas,
I tried out the new software. I am still using Windows XP (no need for bleeding edge for me).
The new option for folder designation works so far. I was able to select %artist% and a new folder was created with the songs stored appropriately.
Good work.

TeilnehmerI will give it a try again. I thought the AOL MusicNow quality was better than Yahoo but I will try again…..cheers..Sal

TeilnehmerOkay. I have done a little playing around with AOL MusicNow. It seems that AOL and Napster have gone into cahoots and the services are merging.
I have checek out Napster, AOL MusicNow and Rhapsody and all these services have two tiers of service, a $9.95 and $14.95 plan. The first plan allows unlimited listening on a computer. The second plan allows a song list to be downloaded in a proprietary format ( not owned) and played on a device (not iPod) as long as the service subscription is maintained.
I have been able to record songs individually using AOMRecord, but have to do this in a fully manual fashion, i.e. hit the Quick Record button. The song title is the generic name given when there is no title information.
The AOLMusicNow and Napster music play in a pop up window while rhapsody requires a formal software download.
I am not sure if anything can be done to get the title/artist information, but I just wanted to post this note as to my discovery at this time.
Thank you.

TeilnehmerOh, sorry. Let em see if I can figure something out…cheers..Sal

TeilnehmerIt has its own proprietary interface like Music Match or iTunes. I was just wondering if it were possible and worth the monthly fee for Rhapsody.

TeilnehmerI figured out the problem with the recording aspect. There is a „stero mix“ within the adbanved parameters for the recording which I selected and the sound is now being picked up.
Unfortunately there is a conflict with Radio@AOL and the AOMRecord program will not respond while Radio@AOL is running.
Darn machines!
