TeilnehmerI tried AOL today by launching the applet from AOMRecord. The applet launches, but the station selection has beed decimated. Really nothing much left at all. It must be the leftover stations that CBS did not want as part of their agreement…only a guess mind you.
In launching the new AOL/CBS program, the media data is not captured although the music can still be recorded in the same fashion.

TeilnehmerSorry, I did it. I will try this out….thanks again for a great program….Sal

TeilnehmerNo, I have not used the AOM Player. How can I do that?
Timbo576
TeilnehmerAlso, I cannot seem to get pandora.com to work right either. The data is not picked up while the sound is heard.
Jango seems to be okay, althought he sound for each song is at a different gaain and the songs will record with static.

TeilnehmerThank you Thomas. It looks like the new AOL/CBS player is also not working either.

TeilnehmerI should say that the service has undergone several incarnations since the spinner.com days. Currently they will be changing their allegiance to CBS Radio and have dropped XMRadio. I suspect Radio@AOL is tinkering a bit in trying to play music and not to pay too much to do so..like all of us.

TeilnehmerThomas,
I have the „Normalize music files after recording“ set to be done. Is this the compensation?
I am just looking at the histogram and the possible clipping that can occur. Which parameters should I use for a song to be recorded. I have seen the whole field „solid“ blue.

TeilnehmerI upgraded and saw the support for jango.com. It seems to collect the information correctly and I am trying it out as I type this note.
Any recommendations for the gain? I usually use the automatic gain button and then drop it down a little. I have had some problems with the non-AOL sites having different levels and there is static in some of the recordings.
For example, in this jango site, there was one song that I had set very well; the histogram was nominal. Then the next song was nearly all in the red in the reording level with the histogram a solid blue.
Any thoughts?

TeilnehmerI was just looking for a different set of stations. I already have Sirius in the car and thus I get teh online player without paying. Granted, the upgraded version has better sound but I am not sure it can be heard.
With the updated software package for AOMRecord, there was a reference for Sirius and I was wondering if it were true.

New: AOMrecord is now able to recognize media data from this provider, too:
real Player is used for many streaming radios and on demand music.
SIRIUS Internet Radio is a provider with more than 65 commercial free music stations.

TeilnehmerBy the way, I have tried slacker.com and it works fine as well as the AOL 4.0 beta.
I have the Yahoo music Jukebox as the freestanding player but no media informaion is available; the launchcast site though works.

TeilnehmerI will give it a go.

TeilnehmerJust out of curiosity, are you accessing the new beta version of Radio@AOL? I am worried that the new version will not be abel to be read by AOMRecord.
The AOMRecord software can still open up the old browser window.

TeilnehmerJulian,
I uninstalled the older version of AOMRecord first and then installed the new version today. Then, I opened the AOMRecord software and clicked to launch Radio@AOL and was able to pick up the media information.
I also noticed that the Acoustic Rock station is back…my favorite.
I tried the Sirius player and there is not information to be had, but there never was for me.
