Re: deleting

Is there a way to „Unselect All“ or is this to be done singly. I will try unselecting and then deleting the files that need to be deleted. But you may still want to look at this feature though.

Man kann das Logbuch bearbeiten. Befindet sich ja alles im Ordner C:Dokumente und EinstellungenBenutzernameAnwendungsdatenECSync.

Viel wird’s bis zur endgültigen Version nicht mehr an Änderungen geben. Aber ich kann ja jetzt prima Updates produzieren 😉 .

1. After doing a comparison, I review the files with changes. If I do not want to synch a file I would uncheck it. If I want to delete a file I right click and then click „delete“. However I have noticed that after I delete a file it resets the entire listing to also reset the files that I had originally uncheck. Is there a way to correct this or was it setup like that on purpose

In fact I haven’t thought about the delete feature this way before and right now I’m not sure if restoring the list with the same marks as before is what other users want. Maybe someone else can write his/her meaning about this. Anyway, do you think it is a solution if someone first deselects all entries, selects those that have to be deleted, deletes them and continues with the other tasks? Please let me know what you think.

Nevertheless, to me this looks as it eventually might become a quite important and useful change.

2. The menu could be more descriptive e.g SU, HD, SF ????? what do they refer to

These are described on the first page in the help (F1). I thought to keep them short to leave enough room for the other information. Any suggestions?

Here’s what they mean:

Su – Refers to all subdirectories below the displayed directory.

SD – System directories

HD – Hidden directories

SF – System files

HF – Hidden files[/list]

3. Exclude Folders. Could there be a way of selecting folders instead of having to type them in

Well, wouldn’t be a big thing to add this. But, again, I’d like to ask what others think. BTW. you can drag and drop folders here from a Windows Explorer window. Would that help?

1. beim Eingeben von Einstellungen (bin mir nicht mehr sich ob bei Standard oder Profil) springt bei „übernehmen“ die Font-Größe plötzlich um auf groß und läßt sich nicht zurücksetzen. Lösung war: rausgehen und nochmal aufrufen.

Ich habe das schon einmal gehört, bekomme es aber selbst nicht hin. Kannst du noch einmal genau nachsehen, wann das passiert?

2. Beim Synchronisieren von rechts nach links mit gleichzeitigem Löschen von Ordnern in links, die rechts nicht da sind, wird links der erste Ordner nicht gelöscht, wenn er der erste Ordner ist im gesamten Vergleich.

Wenn du den allerersten Ordner meinst (den, der auch im Profil angegeben ist), ist das so gewollt. Bitte auch Meinungen von anderen dazu!

3. die Installation verlief problemlos auf meinem ersten Notebook, jedoch beim Zweiten wird bei jedem Aufrufen von ECsync der Microsoft Installer aufgerufen, verlangt die MSI Datei, lehnt jedoch die angebotene als ungültig ab. Man muß dann mehrmals „Abbrechen“ klicken bis plötzlich ECsync erscheint. Außerdem ist die alte Version vom Desktop verschwunden und beim direkten Aufruf via Explorer passiert das Gleiche. Soll ich beide Versionen löschen und neu installieren?

Das klingt nach defektem Installer oder defekter .msi-Datei. Ja, ich würde beide löschen und neu aufsetzen.

4. Ich werde Version 2 auf jeden Fall behalten. Wie aktiviere ich diese?

Mit der Pfadtiefe kann das nicht zu tun haben. Werden diese Dateien als identisch angezeigt oder erscheinen sie überhaupt nicht (entsprechende Ansicht einschalten)?

Kannst du mir dazu ein paar mehr Infos geben, mit denen ich das nachvollziehen kann?

Kann es evtl. sein, dass diese Dateien durch ein Filter ausgeblendet werden?

Again, I can only recommend Pandora.com. Until today I didn’t have to pay for this service. Their ads don’t bother me. And even if I’m going to use this service more, 36 $ per year isn’t too much for what they offer. And their quality is great.

Try it an let me know about your experience.

Hi Sal,

As I mentioned before AOMrecord depends on a break between the songs to separate them. As long as this is the case, you can record XM stations, too. I prepared a changed MSIE.ini file which is available for download here.

This file disables AOMrecord’s looking for the remaining time of a song and uses only pause recognition (for Radio@AOL US only). Replace it with the same file in AOMrecord’s program folder (normally C:Program FilesAOMrecord).

BTW. I have the feeling that XM Radio has a worse quality than the old AOL stations. Especially their dynamic seems very low to me.

Regarding the German stations I didn’t know that they are not available in the US. I thought as we can hear Radio@AOL US, you can do vice versa, too. Too bad. What about the UK stations? Are they available in the US?

Please let us know if the MSIE.ini file helps you at least a bit.

– Den Fehler 1931 kann man glücklicherweise ignorieren. Ich werde in der Installationsdatei einen entsprechenden Hinweis anbringen.

– Zum Löschen mit Papierkorb: Wie ist da die Meinung anderer?

– Die Geschichte mit der Größenänderung muss ich mir noch einmal genau ansehen. Bisher konnte ich das noch nicht reproduzieren.

– An der Beschriftung wurde eigentlich nichts geändert. Man kann sie ja auch wie bisher abschalten. Oder habe ich da etwas übersehen oder missverstanden?

You can record XM stations if they deliver artist and title and if there are breaks between the songs. Without breaks AOMrecord is not able to separate the songs.

I suggest you try the German Radio@AOL which still has the Acoustic Rock station.

Als welche Art von Dateien speichert Napster denn die Musik ab? Wenn es WMA ist, kann man die mit dem WMP wiedergeben und dann sollte es keine Probleme geben.
